INAUGURATION INTO FATHERHOOD
Every man child will one day receive their inauguration into the highest calling in the world. This high calling is not a call to serve in the most powerful military force in the world, for its might is stronger than any military force protecting those who they serve. Nor is this calling a call to serve as the president of the most powerful country in the world. For it, is bar none the most influential calling in the world. Its decisions are not based on political, partisan, or religious agendas; but based on what is good for the present livelihood and posterity of those whom they swore to protect. This calling should challenge every man to walk more circumspectly. This calling is FATHERHOOD. We only know that we have indeed served this calling well when our children are not ashamed to point a finger at us and declare to the world_” That’s my dad.” This calling should challenge every father to dispel darkness's that are inside of them so that their children will walk in the light of better days.
The inauguration of the service of FATHERHOOD is not a two, four, or eight-year term; it is until a man’s very last breath. Every young man will have an inauguration to serve in this capacity; for it is not just reserved for men who have children but for men who don’t. But we must not overlook this one important thing, and that is if we as fathers do not raise our girls to grow into strong women the future of great men is in jeopardy. And when a young boy has been groomed right by those before him, he will steer his family, community, and country towards a better tomorrow. When a man answers and responds appropriately to this high calling whether that man is black, white, brown, tan, yellow or blue; we as a society will begin to see less of what we don’t like about it.~Excerpt from The Wholly BlackBook by Ray Mingo
